Queen's Birthday Weekend 2019 at Rotorua

Next morning maps were handed out directing cars through Rotorua to views at Titiotonga and on to Waimangu for coffee, then a drive through beautiful native bush to a boat waiting at the wharf. Entertained by an interesting commentary the skipper took us through the history of Waimangu, Lake Rotomahana, the Pink and White Terraces and the Tarawera explosion and even got up close to an active blowhole. After lunch at a local café we drove through the Waikite Valley and passed the Ngakuru rural settlement.
